Hi my name is Nikita Ryall
I’m excited to introduce myself today as a candidate for City Councillor at Large.
Born and raised here in St. John’s, I’ve proudly called this city my home for nearly all 38 years of my life. I graduated here from the Child and Youth Care with Addictions program in 2012, and since then, I’ve dedicated my career to serving our community through our non-profit sector.
Throughout my many years of work in low-income housing Neighbourhood Centres, I have been a passionate advocate for the children, youth, and seniors in those communities. In that work, along with my additional roles at the Tommy Sexton Centre and Bridges to Hope Food Bank as a volunteer, I have connected with people from all paths and walks of life. Those connections are what have brought me here today. It is in my nature to be person-focused, and I want to use that to become a stronger voice for those who do not feel heard.
In 2024, my contributions to making Newfoundland and Labrador a better place were recognized in the House of Assembly, and later also with the 75th NL Confederation Anniversary Medal. I have proven through time and hard work that I am capable of making a difference in this city, and I want to continue to do so and help build a St. John’s that is safe, sustainable, and accessible for everyone. I look forward to meeting you on my campaign trail, hearing your concerns, and working to have them heard on City Council.

We advocate for the development of more affordable housing units and supportive housing programs to ensure everyone has a place to call home. By collaborating with developers and local organizations, we aim to create inclusive spaces that cater to diverse needs. Together, we can make a significant impact in addressing housing challenges and fostering community well-being.
Making city-owned parks safer and cleaner is crucial for ensuring that everyone can enjoy these public spaces. By implementing regular maintenance and safety measures we can create welcoming environments for families, friends, and individuals alike Clean parks not only enhance the beauty of our city but encourage community engagement and outdoor activities. Let's work together to ensure our parks are safe,, and accessible for all.
